Coloring & Lettering: Silas
A guest comic by Silas. I found it hilarious, so did Michelle. Yes, we're on an FMA kick. I'm also hyped about the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie due out this summer [in Japan only for now, unfortuneately]. But no obsessions ever live up to Silas and Transformers, or as of recent, Silas and GunParade March. I find myself frequently wondering if giving him a copy of the series was a good idea or not. Eh... No telling. It's certainly been amusing, though if I ever see him in Mai drag that good I think I'll stick it in the bad things category. Another meaning behind this comic, I've sought out a few fellow artists and said anytime you want to, you are more than welcome to do a comic for Adventures in AU. As Silas put it, regualar guest comickers. Whereas up to now, it's primarily been Ashley and I. But we'll graduate eventually, and this little comic... I don't know whether to turn it over to other AU kids when I graduate [on the condition that all old comics remain up in the archives and it continues as ADVinAU] or if it'll become just my comic joking on my life past college. Both are tempting, and I still have plenty of time to think. But for now, I really want this to be a comic for me and my friends, not just me. So, I'm hoping to put author descriptions up for the "regular guest comickers". My image has a pic of everyone invited to do regular comics [Silas is bottom right]... Really the invite is a, "I want more than me playing at ADVinAU," [because I want to be able to treat it somewhat as a memory book years from now] "So if you ever have want or time, I'd love to post comics by you for it." I'm always open to my friends sending in comics for it, but the people I ask to be regulars, anything they send WILL be posted, no matter what [as if there's a lot of risk involved], because I'll treat them as co-artists. I must have been nice to a collector or something in a past life, 'cause toy karma's being really good to me as of late, so sorry if some of this sounds like bragging, because at this point I just don't care. It all started last Friday. I dropped by the Corner with Becky and Michelle and dumped about $250 into John's lap for some stuff that he ordered from me. Not two hours later I get a phone call from him saying that some sap traded in over 100 1980's TF comics and was willing to sell them to me for a cool $100. Long story short, I get about $500 worth of books for a fraction of the cost. Commence the Dance of Joy. I decide to hit Wal-Mart for food and crap, and decide to check out the toys. What do I find? Every Transformer I've been on the lookout for in the last month. Every single one. Prowl, Rodimus, Divebomb, Landmind, they were there. Dance of Joy is now on the ceiling. Now I'm thinking "what's at the Opelika Wally World?" Well, let's go check. They didn't have any of the new 'bots the Auburn store had...save for one. The 20th Anniversary Prime. *With* the *Black* Ion Blaster. For what? $65. Dance of Joy is now 2X speed. So I'm now sitting at home figuring out where to put all this new crap when I look at the clock. 2am. Toy stock time is just about over at Wal-Mart. Truck on over. What do I find? Energon Megatron. A week early. Still in it's friggin' shipper box. Once I convince the stock lady that I could read shipping codes so that she'd open the damn thing, I came home with the big sumbitch. Dance of Joy is over. It's mambo time. With my Shibamura doll. (Ha! You honestly thought you'd get away without a GPM ref? Please, you give me too much credit...) The Truth Who The Eyes Met Before! |
