07.19.2002 -- An explination...
Boy does that ever look bad, huh?

Okay, Melissa (Rhysani), (the other) Matt, Chris, Beau, and I (Was Stephen there too? Can't recall.) were all headed up to Little Five Points in Atlanta one Sunday. Melissa and I were in Matt's car, and Chris and Beau were in Chris's car.
At one point, we were passed by a group of kids in a van holding a sign against the window saying "Honk If You Love Jesus". Now Melissa and I aren't exactly Christian, so somehow we found it highly amusing to write the same thing on a piece of paper and put it up in the window for Chris and Beau to see. They honked, we laughed, and tried to think up what else we could add to the phrase besides "Jesus". Melissa and I, having recently been introduced to the horror that the phrase "Yaoi" produces in the male anime clubbers decided to use that. So I folded the paper to cover up the word "Jesus" and wrote the word "Yaoi". We held that up for Chris and Beau, and got dirty looks from the guys. As I unfolded the paper to put it back in my purse, I realized that unfolded, we had the phrase, "Honk If You Love Jesus Yaoi". Melissa and I found it too funny to pass up and held it up for Chris and Beau to see. Chris promptly flipped us off once he saw it, only making us laugh harder.
Melissa later though to add to it, "'Cause you know it's a trinity." Thus, a running gag was born. ^_^
For those not up to date with anime fandom terms, "Yaoi" is male/male anime porn. Actually, neither Melissa or I have ever watched it, it's just we know what it is, and that it upsets the guys at anime club, much to our amusement.
